Celebrating a Legacy of Community and Western Spirit at the Clark County Fair & Rodeo

For nearly 40 years, the Clark County Fair & Rodeo has been a cherished tradition, uniting families, friends, and community members from across Nevada. Blending a rich agricultural heritage with the excitement of modern entertainment, this annual event encapsulates the enduring spirit of the West.

A Journey Rooted in Tradition

The fair’s humble beginnings date back to 1965, when it was known as the Moapa Valley Fair and held at the local Community Center. Despite its modest start, the fair steadily broadened its horizons—adding a carnival midway, livestock shows, and a growing rodeo—all of which resonated with the values and traditions of the local community.

In 1988, a group of visionary locals reimagined the fair’s potential by rebranding it as the Clark County Fair & Rodeo. This pivotal change reflected the event’s expanding appeal and the deep community ties that had been cultivated over the years, setting the stage for it to become a cornerstone celebration in the region.

A Five-Day Spectacle of Entertainment and Agriculture

Today, the fair spans five action-packed days, offering a diverse mix of attractions. Visitors can experience thrilling PRCA rodeo events, world-class entertainment, and engaging livestock exhibitions. Classic carnival rides and delicious fair food further enhance the atmosphere, creating a unique blend of agricultural heritage and modern fun. This balance pays homage to the region’s storied ranching traditions while embracing innovative twists that keep the experience fresh and exciting.

The Heartbeat of the Fair: Its Volunteers

At the core of the fair’s success are nearly 500 dedicated volunteers. These community heroes invest countless hours every year, managing everything from ground setup and event coordination to maintaining exhibits and the overall vibrant atmosphere. Their unwavering commitment and hard work form the foundation of the fair’s enduring community spirit.

A Tradition for the Future

More than just an event, the Clark County Fair & Rodeo is a celebration of the values that define the community. It honors family, tradition, and the hardworking, pioneering spirit of the West. Whether you’re a lifelong rodeo enthusiast or a first-time visitor drawn by the promise of fun and adventure, every guest becomes part of a legacy that continues to evolve with each passing year.

As plans for future enhancements and new attractions are underway, organizers remain dedicated to preserving the fair’s storied past while embracing innovations that will keep the event vibrant for generations to come.
